The Heartwood is truly a beautiful small hotel. I loved the elegant yet unfussy design and the comfortable, quiet atmosphere. The staff were so welcoming and accommodating, making our stay enjoyable. Plus, the on-site restaurant looked amazing, and the value for the price was excellent!

great for city strolls and nearby attractions

i loved my stay here, especially how close it was to strolls along the breathtaking Walkway Over the Hudson and the charming Upper Landing Park—both perfect spots for some fresh air and scenic views after a comfy night in my beautifully designed Queen Room.

Room cleanliness needs serious attention. a dirty coffee pod sat in the sink upon check-in, and the sink was clogged. There were minimal amenities—no bottles of water, missing tea bags, and a non-functional coffee maker. Maintenance clearly dropped the ball with dirty cups left unaddressed on the second day, and the replacement coffee maker also failed to work.

The spacious Queen Room was a joy, featuring a superbly comfortable bed that ensured a restful night's sleep. The location, just across from Vassar College and within walking distance of cafes, is exceptional. However, maintenance could be improved, as I encountered a few cleanliness issues, including a dirty cup left in my room. Wi-Fi performance was inconsistent, making it difficult to work effectively during my stay.

Wi-Fi was fast for work. free parking was a nice perk. The bar area could use more seating.

I just had the best experience here! The upscale toiletries and comfy bathrobes made me feel pampered, and the distilled water stations on every floor were such a nice touch. Even though I couldn't dine at the restaurant this time, it looked incredible. I will definitely return!

The Queen Room was awesome! Super comfy bed that made falling asleep easy. The decor was stylish and warm. It was nice and quiet, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. There’s also the added perk of being close to local cafes and restaurants without lots of noise. I wish I had tried dining at The Salt Line because it sounds amazing! All in all, the room really felt like a cozy retreat.

This place is brand new and stylish, super clean, with luxe toiletries and cozy bathrobes. Extra points for having distilled water stations on every floor! The layout of the room is so thoughtful.
